Physics is the study of the interaction of matter and energy through forces. This interaction is studied through the careful use of measurements. At West High, we study physics through two different curricula: IB Physics (Standard Level), and NY State Regents Physics.
All first-year physics students complete the year by taking the NY State Regents exam for Physics, regardless of enrollment. For students who complete a two-year sequence of physics (Regents, then IB), the final weeks of the year are spent working on a creative, independent project.
